Payment and Insurance
Payment
All payment is due at the time of service and can be made through Simple Practice. Reduced fees may be available depending on individual circumstances. Please feel free to ask about any concerns you might have regarding fees or payment for services. I maintain a portion of my practice for people in need of a reduced fee. These spots are typically reserved for current clients or students attending weekly sessions who are also undergoing financial hardship. If we are unable to work out an adjustment that is fitting, I will be pleased to help connect you with other services.
Insurance
Bluefield Psychological Services is a private-pay practice. I am an out-of-network mental health provider. This means I am not associated with any specific insurance provider. Even though I am not in-network with insurance, I can provide you with a specialized healthcare receipt, also known as a “Superbill.” A Superbill may often be used to obtain partial reimbursement if you choose to use your insurance to pay for our services. Please check with your insurer beforehand to confirm you have out-of-network coverage, whether prior authorization is needed, and what portion of the cost may be reimbursed. If you would like to learn more about how a Superbill works and how you can utilize it, click the link to learn more.
Good Faith Estimate
If you like, you have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency mental healthcare services. Under the law, health care providers are required to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services.
